How To Merge Funimation and Crunchyroll Accounts
Although offering anime programming, both Crunchyroll and Funimation specialize in various aspects of the genre. Anime with subtitles can be found more frequently on Crunchyroll, whereas Funimation is renowned for its excellent English dubs of well-known shows.
It was quite obvious that Funimation and Crunchyroll will eventually merge ever since Sony, the company that owns Funimation, bought Crunchyroll in 2021. But that wasn’t the case, instead it was made clear that just a portion of the Funimation collection will be transferred at first; certain series are still being uploaded months later.
As a result, the accounts for Funimation and Crunchyroll are currently managed separately. Thus, your Crunchyroll login information and payment information are separate from those used by Funimation account. You will need to switch between the two platforms if you wish to keep using the content on either or make changes to either account.
Except from this significant library change, Crunchyroll would continue to operate individually as usual for the meantime. While Funimation on the other hand would only receive fresh episodes of shows that were already broadcast.
Can Funimation Gift Cards Be Transferred to Crunchyroll?
If you finally decide to move to Crunchyroll, as a Funimation subscribers you may be uncertain what to do with their gift cards. It is important to bear in mind that while both Funimation and Crunchyroll provide anime streaming services, they are independent companies without any formal affiliations.
While you are welcome to contact Funimation customer service, you will need to first create an account with Crunchyroll. So, you should complete that first.

- Enter your email, password, username, and birthday to create a new account.
- Choose “Create Account.”

You will be given the choice to upgrade to a premium account with a 14-day free trial at this point if you have a free account so far.
You can skip this step for the time being so you can speak with customer support at Funimation. When contacting them through their platform, you will have to include both the email.
Does Crunchyroll Premium offer a free 60-day Trial to Funimation Users?
Funimation users who do not currently have a paid Crunchyroll membership will receive a free 60-day trial of Crunchyroll Premium.

Which Funimation titles will be on Crunchyroll?
The “overwhelming majority” of titles will eventually be available on Crunchyroll according to source. All new series, including all new shows in the Spring anime season, will be available to view on Crunchyroll. Funimation will continue to stream new episodes of existing Winter 2022 series.
